Mentoring

It is a major advantage to have an Ivy League faculty and/or successful executive on your side!

IGSS understands that no matter how well prepared you are when you leave the Intensive Workshop, you need support throughout the year. Situations aren’t always easy to handle and new opportunities and challenges come up. An Ivy League faculty and/or successful executive is in contact with you from September of 2016 through May 2017 to help you achieve your goals.

At minimum, each mentor spends an hour live or on video conference with his or her mentee every month, but many mentors speak to their enrollees three to four times a month to provide guidance, support and friendly mature companionship.

Our mentoring programs vary depending on your school situation and level. Please click the option below that applies to you.

Through monthly hour long video conferences and on-gong contact as needed, your mentor will help you succeed in your classes, make American friends, choose optimal courses to take and clubs to join, and enhance your resume, networking and interviewing performance if you seek to pursue research or summer internship opportunities.

mentoring for international studentsThe top universities in America are becoming increasingly competitive. It is harder and harder to get accepted into your first school of choice. High GPAs and SAT scores no longer assure your acceptance into the top universities.

Now, maximizing your chances of getting accepted require that you become expert and or proficient in the following:

  • How to position yourself as unique and superior. What can you contribute to the university that other candidates cannot?
  • Activities that will provide you with unique experiences that you can talk about
  • Superior written communication skills
  • Networking
  • Interviewing

Working with the Founder of IGSS or one of the faculty from Penn or Princeton, you will learn how to become an extremely attractive candidate to the colleges of your choice.
