During your freshman year, you are not allowed to work off campus.

That is why the Institute for Global Student Success has teamed up with the former Treasurer of PepsiCo and leading consultants in Australia and ASEAN to offer Global Remote Internships where you can gain the real world experience and skills you need, and demonstrate your ability to work effectively in Teams and with senior professionals. These Global Remote Internships go on your resume and you also receive a Letter of Commendation from your coach. The top performer receives a Letter of Recommendation.

Here is how it works:

1. During checkout on this website, you must submit your resume and proof of English competence to see if you will be accepted into the program. TOEFL scores must be at least 80; an IELTS score of 6.5 also qualifies students. If scores are below this level or there is no testing available, you must pass a video interview with a representative of IGSS Click here to request an interview.
2. You are put into a group of 4-8 students or you can form your own
   group.
3. You choose from different internships in different fields. Global Remote Internships start every month.
4. You will spend 3-5 hours/week working on the Internship for 12 weeks.
5. You will be coached by a senior executive or Ivy League professor.
6. You will present your recommendations to your coach and outstanding recommendations will be provided to the client.
7. All enrollees receive a Letter of Commendation.
8. The top performer gets a Letter of Recommendation.

The job market is becoming increasingly intense for domestic and international students. Demand for full-time jobs and post-graduate positions far exceed the number of opportunities available. A recent study reports that 75% of employers only hire entry-level employees with related real world experience, which means quantity and quality of internships is absolutely critical. But with the number of internships dwindling due to the Labor Department’s regulations, most companies that used to provide unpaid internships are now requiring you to get college credit for these internships – which can cost between $4,000 and $8,000 per internship at many universities.

In response to this situation, the Institute for Global Student Success, in coordination with the former Treasure of PepsiCo and our Australian and ASEAN partners, has launched the Global Remote Internship program. In this program, students work in groups of 4-8 on a real challenge or opportunity from a company, health care or educational institution or NGO. You will work remotely with students from different universities in the US or abroad and each member spends 3-5 hours/week working on the Internship over 12 weeks to complete the internship assignment from the company.
